Staff at a Shetland hotel have made a “generous” donation to a mental health charity.
The Moorfield Hotel, which offers 100 bedrooms alongside a bar, restaurant and function rooms, chose Mind Your Head as its local charity partner last year and has since donated £5,000 to boost the charity’s efforts in reducing the stigma which often surrounds mental health.
The charity is committed to promoting positive mental health with the funds allowing them the opportunity to expand to provide further support and services to new patients.
Ailsa Sangster, general manager at The Moorfield Hotel, praised the charity’s “fantastic work” and said: “We were delighted to present Mind Your Head with a cheque for £5,000 as it works to combat mental health stigma here in Shetland.
“We are proud to support Mind Your Head and we hope our donation assists the charity as it continues to provide invaluable mental health support”.
Anouska Civico, services manager at Mind Your Head, said: “We are overwhelmed by the generous donation from the Moorfield Hotel and would like to send sincere thanks.
“A donation of this size has such a big impact on a charity and this money means that we can also further develop our plans for supporting new parents.
“We would like to say thank you to everyone involved.”
