A joint investigation has been launched following a building blaze in Ballater.
Emergency services were called just before 9pm and headed to the Glen Lui Hotel on Invercauld Road.
Six appliances took several hours to battle the blaze before leaving the scene at 1am.
It is understood the building was empty at the time of the incident.
A spokeswoman for the fire service said: “We received a call at 8.51pm to 14 Invercauld Road and we had six appliances in attendance altogether.
“We received the stop message at 11.26pm and crews left the scene at 1am.”
A police spokeswoman said: “Police were called around 8.55pm on Friday, January 3, to a report of a fire at the Glen Lui Hotel on Invercauld Road, Ballater.
“We have had no reports of any injuries. There will be a joint investigation with the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and inquiries are ongoing to establish the cause of the fire.”
