Crews were called to Macduff harbour following reports of a shed on fire this evening.
Firefighters from Banff and Macduff used hose reel jets to extinguish the blaze that started around 7.20pm.
The fire was out shortly afterwards and the two fire units left the scene at 8pm.
A spokeswoman said: “We received reports of a shed on fire at Macduff harbour at 7.20pm.
“Two units, one from Banff and the other from Macduff, were dispatched to the scene.
“The stop message came back at 8pm.”
A video, posted on social media by resident Peter Thomson, shows smoke rising into the sky across the north-east town.
It is believed there were no injuries.
