Police have confirmed that a body found in Aberdeen is missing teenager David MacLeod.
The 18-year-old student had last been seen at his home in the city on June 19.
His body was found in a wooded area near to Grandholm Drive.
Police said formal identification has taken place and Mr MacLeod’s family are aware.
Inspector George Nixon, from north-east division, said: “Our thoughts are very much with David’s family and friends at this extremely difficult time.
“I would like to thank everyone who shared our earlier appeals for information and assisted with inquiries.”
Earlier today, Mr MacLeod’s university paid tribute to him on social media.
