An application to begin work on the second phase of a Westhill housing development early than scheduled has been withdrawn.
Stewart Milne Homes submitted an application to Aberdeenshire Council to begin construction on the last phase of houses at a 190 home development at Broadshade in Westhill.
John Low, managing director of Stewart Milne, said the first residents were due to move into properties at the development within weeks and the first tranche of 95 homes had already sold.
Construction on the second lot of 95 homes is not due to begin until 2016.
Planners had urged councillors to refuse on the grounds that it would breach Scottish Government and local policy in terms of housing delivery.
The application was due to be discussed at yesterday’s meeting of the Garioch area committee but it was withdrawn from the agenda.
