A busy Aberdeen bar has had to shut its doors until further notice due to “serious maintenance issues”.
The Tippling House, on Belmont Street, has had to close due to a collapsed drain under their floor.
The issue meant their toilets were not in use last weekend, with customers asked to use neighbouring Cafe Drummonds’ facilities.
Now the pub’s owners have issued a public appeal for a company to come forward and carry out the repairs during the busy festive period.
A statement issued by Tippling House management said: “Unfortunately we suffered a serious maintenance issue on Friday and, as a result, our bathrooms were out of order on both Friday and Saturday evenings.
“We have now had to close-down The Tippling House until further notice pending completion of the repairs. Apologies to anyone who was inconvenienced at the weekend as a result of this.
“We suffered a collapsed drain underneath our solid flooring and this will take some time to repair.
“If anyone knows anyone who works for a building company that may be able to assist us with there will be £150 in vouchers winging itself your way as means of gratitude.
“Thanks to Cafe Drummonds for allowing our guests to use their facilities. Very much appreciated.”
Customers who have placed Hogmanay bookings will be contacted by staff shortly, with other bookings moved to Rye and Soda, in The Academy.
The statement added: “Once again we apologise for any inconvenience. We’re contacting as many companies as we can think of in Aberdeen and the local area, but it’s a tough time of year to book anything in.
“We will be open again as soon as we can get everything fixed.”
