Hundreds of floral tributes have been left at the scene of the horrific accident.

Grieving family and friends visited the spot yesterday and attached flowers and messages to a lamppost outside the Premier Hilton Convenience Store.

One message, left by Miss Watson’s mother, read: “My two beautiful angels in the sky, love you more than life itself, always in my heart my darling Dawn and Steven, always mum xx.”

Another, from Mr Reiach’s aunt, said: “To Steven and Dawn. My dearest nephew, you will be very sadly missed. Love you lots and lots. Aunty Karen.”

A witness to the fatal collision also left her own message: “To Dawn, we didn’t know you but were with you after the accident. Rest in peace with your boyfriend.

“Your family are in our thoughts. Lots of love, Linda.”

Last night, local councillors added to the tributes and said it was devastating young people had died in what they called a “tragedy.”

Hilton-Woodside-Stockethill councillor Kirsty Blackman offered her condolences to friends and family of the young couple.

She added: “Heading into spring, the numbers of cyclists and motorcyclists on the roads will increase.

“It’s especially important at night to ensure you are alert and on the lookout, for the safety of all road users.”

Lesley Dunbar, who is also a councillor in the area, said: “It’s important police are left to investigate the incident and if there are any lessons to be learned I’m sure we will be informed.”
