A teenager has been placed on the sex offenders’ register for stalking schoolgirls while they were carrying out their paper rounds.
Ronald Wink crept around behind three youngsters who were working in the Garioch area of Aberdeenshire for more than two years.
One of the girls, who was aged 14 at the time, was stalked over the course of a year while she delivered papers.
Wink, of 80 Ladeside Gardens, Port Elphinstone, Inverurie, stalked another victim between May and August last year when she was aged just 15.
He followed both girls on their routes, hiding as he watched them.
Finally, on November 2 last year, he continually followed and stared at another 14-year-old girl while she was delivering newspapers.
Wink appeared at Aberdeen Sheriff Court yesterday and admitted engaging in a course of conduct involving two of the girls which placed them in a state of fear and alarm.
He also admitted acting in a threatening and abusive manner on one occasion with his last victim. He accepted this would have been frightening for her.
The court heard the Crown’s position was that there was a “significant sexual element” to the indictment he admitted.
As a result, sentence was deferred until next month for background and psychological reports to be carried out.
Sheriff Annella Cowan placed Wink on the sex offenders’ register in the meantime.
