Archway, which supports people with learning disabilities, has landed five spots in the iconic Great North Run in Newcastle. Participants must sign up to raise £500 for the charity to take part in the event on September 11. Janine Davies, fundraising manager at Archway, said: “Last year runners from over 40 different countries raised millions of pounds for charities. “But far more people apply than there are places for and many are unsuccessful. “Our team last year said it was an amazing, once in a lifetime experience and we are sure it will be the same for anyone taking part this year.” People keen to run the half marathon for Archway should contact admin@archway.org.uk or call 01224 643327.
