A 17-year-old male has died following a serious crash in Aberdeenshire.
Emergency services were called to the A947 between Dyce and Newmachar at 2.10am where a blue Seat Leon and a silver Citroen C2 had collided.
Four people were taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary following the incident which took place near the Swailend bridge.
The teenager sustained serious head injuries and died today in hospital.
The three others were described as walking wounded.
A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “Police Scotland can confirm that following a two vehicle collision on the A947 Newmachar to Dyce road, Aberdeenshire, a 17 year-old-man has now sadly died.
“The collision, between a blue Seat Leon and a silver Citroen C2, happened at about 2.15am on Saturday 12 March 2016.
“The four occupants of the cars were taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary following the collision, however the 17 year old passenger of the silver Citroen died today as a result of his injuries.
“Anyone who saw the collision or either of these vehicles on the road prior to the incident is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101.”
