Two people were charged after a vehicle fire caused the closure of a major road in Aberdeenshire for almost three hours last night.
The incident happened at 5.15pm, on the A920 Ellon to Pitmedden road, one-and-a-half miles from Ellon.
In the aftermath of the one-vehicle accident, the car ended up on its roof on nearby ground, having left the road.
No-one was injured and the fire was out by the time two appliances had arrived from Ellon.
Police closed the road to carry out inquiries, re-opening it just before 8pm.
A 23-year-old man, and a woman, aged 24, were later charged with alleged road traffic offences.
