Two couples assaulted a man who they claimed had offered them drugs in a Nairn pub.
Inverness Sheriff Court heard yesterday that another man who had come to the aid of the victim was also assaulted.
In the dock were 33-year-old Lauren Mackenzie and her 30 year old partner Brian Kelman of Lochdhu Gate, Nairn and 32 year old Leanne McLaughlin and her 32 year old husband Gary of George Street, Nairn.
All four admitted assaulting Kyle Lawrence in the Star Hotel on June 25 last year by pinching him on the nose; pointing at his face; pinning his arms against a wall, pulling him from a chair and repeatedly striking him on the head.
Both men pleaded guilty to punching Connor West who fell to the ground after coming to Lawrence’s assistance.
Gary McLaughlin’s defence solicitor Duncan Henderson said: “This all started because he was offered drugs.”
Both women were fined £300 and the men fined £600 by Sheriff Gordon Fleetwood.
