Police found a wrap of heroin in the back of a 56-year-old Dingwall man’s car after they stopped it in an Inverness street, a court heard yesterday.
Alan Brown, of Castle Gate House, Castle Street, appeared at Inverness Sheriff Court and admitted possessing between £30 and £40 worth of the Class A drug on May 29 this year.
He was fined £400.
The court heard that as officers were speaking to Brown he appeared nervous and stuttered his replies.
It was then that police noticed the green wrap on the back seat of his vehicle.
Defence lawyer Marc Dickson said: “He had given two people a lift earlier in the day and they left something behind. He chose to ignore it.”
