Alcoholic became violent when police came to arrest her at relative’s home

An alcoholic who became violent when police came to arrest her at a relative’s home in Dingwall will have to wear a monitoring tag for the next four months.

Sentence had been deferred until yesterday for a background report on 35-year-old Kimberley Fraser of Jubilee Court, Dingwall.

At an Inverness Sheriff Court hearing on Christmas Eve, she had admitted spitting on an officer, resisting arrest and threatening behaviour in the property on December 8 last year.

Defence solicitor Neil Wilson said then: “She is on more than one community payback order currently so a report will be required.”

Sheriff Gary Aitken also asked for a restriction of liberty order assessment.

Mr Wilson said that his client, who had a support network for her in place, had been living in Dornoch, “which was not a good place for her”.

He added she now had her own accommodation and was “more able to control her behaviour”.

Sheriff Aitken decided to confine Fraser to her home between the hours of 11pm and 5am and to wear an electronic tag rather than send her to prison.
