Wick Sheriff Court will hear its first overseas video evidence in a criminal trial later this week.
A woman will give her evidence from an American courtroom for the trial of Yaegar Coghill, accused of sexually assaulting her, in a Wick pub.
David Barclay, prosecuting, said that a test run on the transatlantic link had been successful and everything was in place for the case to proceed at 11am, UK time, on Friday.
Coghill, 22, of Rickleens, Hill Avenue, Wick, denied to the indecent assault on the woman, who is on an extended stay on the New York coast.
The incident is said to have taken place in the town’s Wetherspoon pub on August 31.
