A man has denied driving dangerously, resulting in a crash between two other vehicles.
Miles Burnett, 21, is alleged to have driven a van dangerously on the A944, near the junction with the B977 at Dunecht, on January 29.
He is accused of driving at excessive speeds for the conditions and overtaking another vehicle in a built-up area on approach to a traffic island, disregarding a “keep left” sign.
It is alleged the overtaking manoeuvre continued across the entrance of a junction in the path of oncoming traffic, narrowly avoiding a collision.

Burnett is further alleged to have turned into the path of an approaching vehicle and applied the brakes, causing the other driver to take evasive action resulting in a collision between two other vehicles.
Burnett, whose address was given as Lumsden, Huntly, was not personally present at Aberdeen Sheriff Court but pled not guilty to the charge through his solicitor Liam Mcallister.
Sheriff Ian Wallace set a trial date for September and a preliminary hearing for August and ordained Burnett to appear.
