A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a woman who was found dead at a flat in Aberdeen.
The body of Jacqueline Kerr was discovered at a property on Sunnyside Road on Monday.
The 54-year-old was discovered when police broke down the door amid concerns for her welfare.
A man was arrested hours later outside Scotstown Primary School in Bridge of Don.
Christopher Cook, 43, appeared in private at Aberdeen Sheriff Court this afternoon facing one charge of murder.
He is also charged with a second charge of domestic abuse and a third charge of threatening or abusive behaviour.
Cook, whose address was not provided by the Crown, made no plea and was remanded in custody.
In a statement, Ms Kerr’s family described her as a “fun-loving person” who “loved her two dogs”.
Police attended at a property on Sunnyside Road – near the Cash 4 Clothes second-hand shop – at around 10.40am on Monday after wellbeing concerns were raised.
Premises on Sunnyside Road were immediately sealed off by police as investigations were carried out.
Detective Inspector Gary Winter, from the major investigations team, said: “There is no doubt that this incident will cause concern within the community, however, I would like to stress that we are treating this as an isolated and contained matter.”
