A man has appeared in court on rape and attempted murder charges after an alleged incident in Cove over the weekend.
Police were called to an address on Charleston Road North in the Cove area of the city on Saturday evening.
Forensic investigators were seen at the home gathering evidence at the scene.
Now, Kyle Allan has appeared in private at Aberdeen Sheriff Court, facing two serious charges in connection with the incident.
The 31-year-old, from the Aberdeen area, is accused of rape and of attempted murder.
Accused remanded in custody
Allan made no plea during the hearing and was remanded in custody while the case was committed for further examination.
He is expected to re-appear in court again within the next eight days.
A police investigation was launched on Saturday after reports of a man entering a two-storey house on Charleston Road North around 9.15pm.
Police officers cordoned off the property while forensic experts probed the scene.
Door-to-door inquiries were carried out and CCTV footage from the area has been examined.
Detective Inspector Mark Lambley previously said: “Police patrols are being carried out in the area and this will continue as our investigation progresses”.
