A man has been found seriously injured within a commercial property in the Lochinver area.
Police are now investigating and said how the 40-year-old sustained his injuries is currently being treated as unexplained.
The man was found in a commercial property in the Inver Park area of the Sutherland village on Tuesday evening.
He was initially airlifted to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness.
He has since been transferred to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment to a serious head injury.
Detective Inspector Scott Macdonald said: “The injury sustained is currently being treated as unexplained and inquiries are ongoing to establish the exact circumstances of how this man came to be injured.
