A male walker was rescued from the north end of Skye earlier this evening after falling and hurting his back.
The incident was first reported to the Coastguard Operations Centre in Stornoway around 5.15pm, with Rescue 948 from Stornoway sent to Rubha Hunish to assist the man.
A spokeswoman said: “We received a call at 5.15pm to assist a gentleman who had fallen and hurt his back whilst out walking at Rubha Hunish in the north of Skye.
“Rescue 948 from Stornoway was sent to assist and transport the man to hospital.
“The man was taken to the Western Isles Hospital in Stornoway for further treatment.”
