Two fire crews were earlier today dispatched to extinguish a bus that was reported to be ablaze in the Cradlehall area of Inverness. The incident was first reported to the fire service at 10.43am with two crews from Inverness dispatched to Caulfield Road to provide assistance. All persons aboard were reported to have departed the bus prior to the fire services arrival and were said to be in a safe place. A fire service spokeswoman said: “One hose reel jet and two breathing apparatus were in use. “Firefighters made the vehicles safe and were checking for fire spread. “The fire was contained in the engine compartment and crews dampened down the area. “A stop message was received at 11.23am with the last crew departing at 12.04pm.”
