An Inverness city centre bar is hoping to extend its hours and open until 3am.
Invopco Ltd is seeking an extra hour for The Gellions in Bridge Street from Thursdays to Saturdays.
Two objections from neighbouring residents, concerned about noise, have been lodged and Highland Licensing Board will make a decision when it meets tomorrow.
The popular bar and restaurant, situated in a busy commercial and residential area, is currently open from 11am – 1am (Sunday-Thursday) and 11am-2am (Friday – Saturday).
A public bar on the ground floor of the three-storey building has regular live music. On the second floor is a function suite and bar which is used on a more sporadic basis.
A comment provided for the board by the Licensing Standards Officer, reads: “The premises are well run and compliance visits conducted by the LSO bear out that due diligence is carried out by management.
“The premises are members of the Inverness Pub Watch which covers the majority of city centre premises. They also frequently enter the Best Bar None Awards and have regularly attained and been awarded the gold standard.”
