The accident happened on the Liathach area of Glen Torridon

A man in his 40s has been injured after an avalanche in the west Highlands.

Police said that the incident happened in the Liathach area of Glen Torridon at 2.30pm this afternoon.

Torridon Mountain Rescue Team and Stornoway Coastguard helicopter are at the scene.
