The Stornoway Coastguard was alerted when the Lysblink Seaways ran aground at Ardnamurchan Point at around 2am. The Tobermorey lifeboat was called to assist, while a tug boat is making its way to the incident from Shetland. The crew on-board the vessel – which is thought to be carrying paper – are said to be attempting to re float it. A coastguard spokeswoman said: “It is a cargo vessel gone aground at Ardnamurchan Point. It is a cargo vessel carrying paper, nine people are on-board. “There’s a tug coming down from Shetland. There doesn’t seem to be any pollution. It is just a waiting game to see if they re-float.” There have been no rescues yet.
