Firefighters were called to the home in Crawford Avenue in Rosemarkie at around 9.40am. Police confirmed that a woman had been removed from the house and treated by paramedics using oxygen at the scene. She was described as “conscious and breathing” by the police spokesman. Three fire crews from Inverness attended the blaze and used hosereel jets and breathing apparatus to fight the fire. A spokesman for the fire service said that the fire had been extinguished but two crews were remaining at the scene to monitor the incident. He was unable to say the extent of the damage caused to the house.
