Police dive teams have concluded their part in the search for a missing hillwalker in Glencoe.

Robin Garton was last seen on the morning of Friday, September 25, setting off for a walk in the area.

A specialist police dive team have been involved in the search for the missing 69-year-old, searching the River Coe area for signs of the walker.

A police spokesman said that the marine unit had concluded its search yesterday, with mountain rescue teams due to continue their efforts later in the week.

Specialist police officers will search the area towards the end of the week, while Glencoe Mountain Rescue Team will continue their efforts at the weekend.

Mr Garton, who is from Devizes in Wiltshire, was last seen checking out of the King’s House Hotel in Glencoe at around 8am on Friday, September 25.

His black Volkswagen Passat estate was found a few miles further north at Achnambeithach, near the A82 Fort William to Glasgow road.

Searches have focused on the Aonach Eagach ridge and the “Three Sisters” area of Bidean nam Bian.

Teams have also searched the wider Glencoe area.

Mr Garton is described as 6ft 2in and of slim to medium build with fair hair which is slightly balding. He occasionally wears glasses but it is not known what he was wearing when he set out last week.
