From Rockin’ All Over the World to strumming in the Highlands – Status Quo has announced a stripped back show in Inverness.

The legendary rockers, who have scored nearly 60 top 40 hits, will perform a special “Acquostic” show at Inverness Leisure Centre in June.

They join a star-studded roster of talent heading for the Highland capital next summer, with Bryan Adams, Olly Murs and The Beach Boys already confirmed.

The band will be led by Frances Rossi, with fellow frontman Rick Parfitt sitting out the tour on medical grounds.

They are promising a set packed with hits new and old from their extensive back catalogue which will stripped back and given an acoustic twist.

Mr Rossi said: “We’re so looking forward to heading to Inverness for an ‘Aquostic’ show in front of an audience of around 1,900 fans.

“We will strip-back some of our best, most-loved songs and give our fans a really special evening of live music. I hope you can join us.”

The show will be held at Inverness Leisure Centre on Tuesday, June 20 as part of the Live in the City series of gigs.

It is being hosted by LCC Live, who are also responsible for bringing The Beach Boys, Olly Murs and Bryan Adams to the Highlands.

Lauren Munro of LCC Live, said: “If you love Status Quo, you need to be there; if you’ve never before seen this truly legendary band play acoustically, you need to be there.

“It’s going to be extra special.”

Ms Munro added: “Status Quo will perform as part of our Live in the City line-up.

“They will join The Beach Boys, Olly Murs and Bryan Adams, for shows over the summer months, offering superb live entertainment to those living in northern Scotland.”

Tickets for the Status Quo show go on sale from 9am on Thursday online from Ticketline and from Caffreys Menswear on Union Street.
