Highland Council is reminding people in Inverness that there is still time to apply for a payment towards winter fuel bills.
Those on low income of all ages can apply for the one-off payment of £79 from the Inverness Common Good Fund winter payment scheme.
The scheme is open to residents within the wards of Aird and Loch Ness, Inverness West, Inverness Central, Inverness Ness-side, Inverness Millburn, Culloden and Ardersier and Inverness South.
As well as pensioners, applicants can include people who have a child under the age of five and are in receipt of some form of income support. Those receiving incapacity benefit are also eligible.
There must also be a resident in the property entitled to either attendance allowance, disability living allowance, a war widow’s pension, personal independence payment or armed forces independence payment.
Applicants must also be able confirm that there are no residents in the household in receipt of a wage either now or in the last six months or with capital in excess of £6,000.
The deadline for return of application forms is February 28 2015.
