Laird-bagger gets invite to singles festival

Nicci Taylor
Nicci Taylor

A woman who is to tour Ireland in a campervan to search for the man of her dreams has been invited to Europe’s biggest singles festival!

After bagging a Scottish laird last year, Nicci Taylor is going back on the road again – this time scouring Ireland to find Mr Right.

Nicci split from land owner James Pollard – who she called Mr P – in October. The couple had been together for less than two months at James’ mansion in Caithness.

But now former Lady of the Manor Nicci, 49, from Wirral is heading back on the road again in her campervan – she nicknames The Beast – with her beloved dog Milo, this time to look for love in Ireland.

And Discover Ireland has already put her in touch with the Lisdoonvarna Matchmaking Festival.

Held every September in the small town of Lisdoonvarna on Ireland’s west coast, the festival has been attracting those looking for love for over 160 years.

The festival even boasts its very own matchmaker, Willie Daly, who has set up over 3,000 marriages – though Nicci mistakingly – or hopefully – thinks its ten times that many!

“I’m so looking forward to start travelling again. Just from posting my blog yesterday I’ve received some lovely messages with places to visit and people to look up. Discover Ireland sent me a link for The Lisdoonvarna Matchmaking Festival which has resulted in over 30,000 marriages thanks to Willie Daly, the only true matchmaker! So there may be hope for me yet…” she wrote on her blog.
