An award-winning Lossiemouth-based charity will launch a new endurance challenge event this summer.
The Mighty Moray Drambuster will give participants the chance to complete the Moray Way in a day and raise money for three local good causes.
The route, which will follow the 95-miles of the Moray Way, will involve three disciplines – mountain biking, canoeing and walking or running.
All money raised from the event, which will take place over 24 hours on Sunday, June 28, will benefit Cash for Kids, Moray’s Quarriers Care Support Service and Outfit Moray.
Ian Rideout, chief executive at Outfit Moray, said: “We are delighted to announce the launch of The Mighty Moray Drambuster.
“It’s a new charity endurance challenge event which will compliment two other new charity events we will be supporting in Moray this year – the RAF Benevolent Fund Cairngorm to Coast Challenge at the end of May and the Moray Challenge scheduled for October.”
The launch event will take place at the Universal Hall in Findhorn on Friday at 7pm.
Following the launch, the first of three Spirit of Adventure evenings being run by the charity and supported by Windswept Brewing Co will start with mountaineering veteran David “Heavy” Whalley.
Mr Whalley, who is Outfit Moray’s patron, will be talking about how outdoor adventure changed his life, his experiences in the mountains and in mountain rescue over 36 years.
Online registrations for the Drambuster will open on Monday, March 2 at 10am at www.outfitmoray.com.
