A helicopter equipped with specialist medics from Ayrshire has touched down in a Moray park to asses an ill infant and possibly escort him to specialist care in Glasgow, the Press and Journal understands.
The chopper left Prestwick this afternoon and a local lifeboat team were tasked with preparing a landing zone in Cooper park in Elgin.
Aberdeen coastguard confirmed that they have been tasked with preparing a landing site for the helicopter in Elgin’s Cooper Park.
It’s understood it will travel to Glasgow with a baby from Dr Grays hospital.
A coastguard spokesman said: “There is a helicopter about to land with a baby on board.
“The Burghead team has been asked to make a landing site in the park.
“The helicopter will also be returning to Glasgow tonight.”
The ambulance service could not be reached for comment.
