Police searching a north-east beach after a human jaw was found have so far found nothing else to help in their investigation.
A set of teeth were discovered on Wednesday (January 13) next to a coastal path near Lunan Bay, between Arbroath and Montrose.
Officers cordoned off an area of grass behind Redcastle Farm in Inverkeilor, just south of the Lunan Water but no other bones were discovered yesterday.
It is understood that the jaw was found by a member of the public on Wednesday.
Yesterday, a police van, two 4×4 vehicles and a squad car were on the scene.
It is believed that the remains washed ashore following high tides and stormy weather which have swept Scotland in recent weeks.
