Mohamed Lahouaiej Bouhlel, a French-Tunisian delivery driver and petty criminal, is the man named locally as being behind a terror attack in Nice that left 84 people dead.
The 31-year-old is reported to have driven a 19-tonne white Renault lorry through a crowd of Bastille Day revellers before leaving the cabin and opening fire.
So who is Lahouiej Bouhlel, the man behind Nice’s worst ever terror attack?
Background
According to French media, Bouhel was born in Tunisia in 1985 and held a French residency permit.
Police raided his flat earlier today, where he reportedly lived alone, in the Abattoirs area of the city.
French television station BFM TV reported that he was a divorced father of three who had become depressed following the breakdown of his marriage.
Neighbours told French reporters that Bouhel did not appear to be particularly interested in religion, adding that he “preferred girls and salsa”.
He is also understood to have been suffering from financial problems, which made him “depressed and unstable, even aggressive.

First hand accounts
Anan, a neighbour, said that she found him shifty and described him as “a good-looking man who eyed up my two girls too much”.
One resident told the Telegraph: “He was quiet and moody. I did not know whether he was a Muslim. I think he had a motorbike.”
A woman living in the same block said: “I hardly knew him, but from what I could see he seemed very weird. He lived alone. He said very little to anyone and wasn’t very polite. He wouldn’t hold the door open for you.”
Jasmine, 40 said: “He was rude and bit weird.
“We would hold the door open for him and he would just blank him. He kept himself to himself but would always rant about his wife. He had martial problems and would tell people in the local cafe. He scared my children though.”

Did he work alone?
Police are searching for accomplices but so far nothing has been confirmed. A number of pro-ISIS social media accounts have celebrated the attack but so far no group has claimed responsibility
French Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve said authorities are working to identify the terrorist – and determine whether or not he had help.
He told reporters: “I’d like to say a word about the investigation, not to reveal any details but to say that we are fighting this with all the means the state has to identify the suspect. The identification process is ongoing.
“We will firstly determine if he had help from accomplices or not. And this information is to be shared by the public prosecutor according to what will be verified for sure, to prevent rumours or false information to be carried out.”
