Rijeka are refusing to concede defeat in their mission improbable against the Dons tonight.
The Croatians have arrived in Aberdeen 3-0 down after their home loss in the first leg of their Europa League second qualifying round tie against Derek McInnes’ side at Kantrida Stadium last week.
But Rijeka midfielder Marin Tomasov, who missed two clear-cut chances to open the scoring against the Dons in the first leg, insists his team can upset the Dons. The 27-year-old said: “We have it all to do but I’d rather talk on the field. I hope and still believe 100% we can achieve a positive result and we will give our all until the final seconds.
“I’ve played with Hajduk against Stoke City in Britain before and the atmosphere was one I enjoyed. I hope that will be the case in Aberdeen and ultimately we can go through.”
Tomasov’s midfield team-mate Marin Ljubicic knows his side has no option but to go for broke against the Dons. He said: “There is hope in the second leg. We will give our best and play until we drop.”
