
Adam Rooney has been named Aberdeen’s player of the year at this evening’s end-of-season awards evening.
Irishman Rooney, who was shortlisted for the PFA Scotland player of the year award, has scored 27 goals for the Dons this season.
Rooney, who joined the Dons from Oldham last year, said he was delighted to win the award at the club’s annual prize-giving dinner at the AECC.
Lawrence Shankland was named the under-20 player of the year, while Cammy Smith won the young player-of-the-year accolade.
Earlier in the evening, the Dons unveiled their new home strip for the 2015-16 season, which will be on sale from Monday, May 18.
It was also announced that Reds captain Russell Anderson is to retire.
