A Craig Gunn double was enough to give Wick Academy their first league win of the season.
Former Elgin City striker Gunn headed home the opener before adding a second when he capitalised on a Colin MacRae mistake to net from six yards.
James Beeston’s fabulous second-half 25-yard strike gave Clach hope but Academy held on to claim their first three points of the season.
Wick manager Tom McKenna said “It’s good to eventually get that first win. Hopefully this will give the players the confidence and platform to push forward.
“It was very much a game of two halves. We dominated the first half and deservedly went 2-0 up with a Craig Gunn double.”
Clach defender Martin MacDonald said: “They were probably the better team in the first half but in the second half we pressed them higher, scored and possibly deserved a draw in the end.”
