Ross County: Kiss won’t rule out Staggies return

Filip Kiss has not ruled out making a return to Ross County after revelling in his loan spell at Victoria Park.

The Slovak will return to his parent club Cardiff City after today’s game at Partick Thistle but, having enjoyed his six-month loan with the Staggies so much, the midfielder is open to the idea of returning to the Highlands.

County manager Derek Adams believes finance will be a barrier to any of the five loan players returning but Kiss would like to come back to the club if he cannot force his way into the first team at Cardiff, who will be playing Championship football next season following their relegation from the Premier League.

Kiss said: “Maybe I will come back again. I’ve had a very good time here, have scored some goals and feel I have improved as a player. There may be more to come for me in Scotland but whatever happens I am really grateful for my time at Ross County.

“I would love to come back again as the people have treated me really well here. I’ve tried to enjoy myself as much as possible and the fact we have stayed in the league has been great. I’ve had a really good time here.

“You never know what will happen. I have to go back to Cardiff first as they are my club and I want to fight for my place there if I can. But in the future, who knows what will happen.”

Whether Kiss returns remains to be seen but he believes he is returning to Cardiff a better player for his time in Scotland and the midfielder is determined to go out on a high with victory on his last appearance for the club today.

He said: “We have one more game to go and it will be nice to go into it without the pressure of relegation. It would be great to finish with a win and in seventh position.

“When I came here in January we were second bottom on 11 points, so it is great to see the league table now and see we are in a good position and capable of finishing even higher.

“We have improved since January and with I’m looking to enjoy my last game.

“There is no pressure on us now an I hope we will can go out against Partick Thistle and enjoy ourselves.”
