The TV presenting duo were surprised by the show’s producers during the “Win The Ads” section of the landmark programme.

Emma Willis temporarily replaced them as presenter as they attempted to win an array of prizes on behalf of audience member Stephen Barnes.

Cuba Gooding Jr, Sophie Ellis Bextor, Alfie Boe and Michael Ball also joined the pair on the live show which included an array of best bits from old episodes.

Ant and Dec also handed out a series of awards to viewers in the studio and at home as they celebrated the episode and paid tribute to the production staff.

Fans on social media joined in the celebration at home and thanked the pair for 16 years of Saturday night entertainment.
