Zoe Ball heading to ITV for new weekend talk show

Veteran BBC broadcaster Zoe Ball is heading to rival ITV for a new weekend talk show.

The It Takes Two presenter, 47, will present Zoe Ball On Saturday and Zoe Ball On Sunday, both shortened to ZBoS, for an hour every weekend morning.

The studio-based series will feature live music, celebrity guests and topical discussion.

Ball said it would be a “one-stop shop for all you need in the world of entertainment and leisure”.

“I am super-excited to return to weekend morning television (a few years on) with a glorious mix of all the things I love – live music from your favourite music stars, great chat with stars of television and big screen, and new exciting authors,” she added.

Heads of daytime at ITV Jane Beacon and Clare Ely said they were “thrilled to welcome” Ball to ITV.

Ball launched her TV career as a runner at Granada Television before becoming a regular host for CBBC music programme, The Ozone.

She co-presented the BBC’s Saturday morning children’s magazine Live & Kicking alongside Jamie Theakston for three years from 1996 and became the first female host of the Radio 1 Breakfast Show in 1998.

She was a contestant in series three of Strictly Come Dancing and became presenter of its spin-off, It Takes Two, in 2011.

Last year Ball’s boyfriend, Billy Yates, died after a long battle with depression.
