Aberdeen-based IT provider has landed contracts worth over £750,000 in the last six months due to boosts in its connectivity network.

Converged Communication Solutions, which specialises in providing internet connection, telephone systems and IT support services, has developed its networks thanks to partnerships with superfast broadband developer, CityFibre and data centre firm, Brightsolid and has 24-hour access to nine unbundled Openreach exchanges in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire.

Its latest contract awards include over 15 new clients and a number of multi-year extensions to contracts with existing customers, the company said.

A new client is Aberdeen-headquartered highlandwear outfitters McCalls. The retailer has signed a two-year connectivity deal covering its six shops across Scotland. It also secured connectivity and IT support contracts with Aviation Logistics Group and Genesis Personnel.

Neil Christie, managing director at Converged, said: “Following significant investment we now have one of the most extensive networks in the region and are able to offer connectivity options to suit all sizes and types of business. We are thrilled that these new contracts bring an additional 4.8GB of traffic to our network, utilising what is a fantastic resource for local businesses. Backing this up is our own in-house technical support team that provides a dedicated service help desk during standard working hours and an out-of-hours service if clients require it.

He added: “We are beginning to witness a clear shift taking place amongst companies, whereby they are now viewing these elements as critical to the day-to-day operation and long-term success of their businesses.”

Established in 2005, the company has grown from a two-man operation into a fully integrated communications company with around 30 staff. Recently it acquired a fellow Aberdeen computer firm Century Business Systems (CBS) in a deal worth up to £500,000. It is an official partner of CityFibre’s Aberdeen project which has brought a Gigabit speed fibre network to the city.
