A new think tank which will publicise key economic issues and solutions, whilst delivering thought leadership for the Highland and Islands, has been announced by Inverness Chamber of Commerce at its annual Highland Business Dinner.

The Leader Think Tank has been created with partners the Press and Journal, the Chamber’s constituency MP Drew Hendry and System2 PR agency.

It aims to generate awareness and leadership on key economic issues which affect not just Chamber members, but the wider region and Scotland as a whole.

Stewart Nicol, Inverness Chamber of Commerce chief executive said: “This is a proactive partnership and new entity. It will initiate awareness campaigns whilst commissioning and publicising white papers that seek to provide solutions to economic challenges which are relevant to Chamber members and the wider regional and national economies. This is vital activity which underlines the Chamber’s position as the leading business voice in the region.”

Duncan Chisholm, head of regional sales for DC Thomson Media, said: “We are delighted that the Press and Journal is a permanent partner of he new think tank and believe our media reach will be important in raising the profile of key economic issues arising from its work.”
