SonicVision 3D fun at Dynamic Earth

Following last year’s success, the highly acclaimed fully immersive SonicVision show has returned to the five-star visitor attraction Dynamic Earth for a four-week run as part of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

Featuring music from 17 different artists, the digitally animated planetarium music show takes the audience on a trip through vivid 3D graphic environments pulsating to the rhythm of electronic music.

The psychedelic digital extravaganza includes visions of mandalic and mystical imagery as well as astronomy and space travel.

Described as a “sensory overload” by the New York Times and as “a brain-melting fiesta of sounds and sights” by Wired News, SonicVision is an immersive musical dreamscape, showing in 360-degree projection in Dynamic Earth’s ShowDome, Scotland’s only large-scale full-dome cinematic experience with explosive 10.2 surround sound.

Eilidh Massie, marketing manager for Dynamic Earth, said: “We’re really excited about the return of SonicVision to Dynamic Earth this August. This digital experience weaves music and visual arts together, allowing the audience to spin, strobe and shimmer through simulated space. We received fantastic feedback last year, and we know it will mesmerise visitors of all ages again this summer.”

SonicVision runs from now until Saturday, August 29, with two performances per night at 7pm and 8pm.

Before and after the show, visitors can relax in the specially created Rainforest Bar – the only bar in Scotland set in a tropical rainforest.

Situated at the foot of Edinburgh’s spectacular Salisbury Crags, Dynamic Earth is the only science centre dedicated to telling the story of Planet Earth. Highlights include the deep time machine, a real iceberg, a bone-shaking earthquake and a 4D theatre.

Tickets for SonicVision are priced at £8 for adults and £5 for children under 16 and are available via www.dynamicearth.co.uk and the Fringe Box Office. Contact: www.dynamicearth.co.uk
