Looking to give your loved one something special this Christmas? How about a piece of antique jewellery or a bespoke item created especially for you?

McCalls specialise in art deco jewellery. In their shops you can find Edwardian and Victorian pieces as well as items with white gold and diamonds.

They never stop stocking up and every piece is different thanks to its history and the way antique items used to be made.

They have a variety of jewellery services and buy items according to both the gold content and the piece value. Having their own workshop means that they are also able to create a bespoke item of jewellery specific to your taste and requirements.

Managing director Iain Hawthorne said: “Our service can build a ring and we can incorporate something sentimental. We offer valuations and also buy from all over the world, including France and Italy.”

He said: “We are a team of individuals who sit down with you and design something completely for your wishes.”

The process takes around four to six weeks and at the end you will have a Christmas present for your loved one which no one else in the world has.
When you think of McCalls, kilts might come to mind, but they actually started out in 1887 selling second hand goods, including jewellery. Founded by husband and wife team Daniel and Annie McCall in Upperkirkgate, the name has now branched out with shops in Elgin, Broughty Ferry, Edinburgh, Tillicoultry and Glasgow as well as Aberdeen.
