Dave Jacobs, 50, travelled from Stonehaven to Aberdeen standing upright on a paddleboard to raise money for Children in Need. The sporting instructor completed the stunt this week in five hours – setting off from Stonehaven at 10am and arriving in Aberdeen at 3pm. Dave, from Stonehaven, said he would’ve been able to conquer the waters quicker if it wasn’t for his weighty costume. He said: “It was tough paddling wearing the outfit – it was hot and very limited visibility with the penguin head. “I was helped along the way by seals and a few dolphin pods joining me along the way, which was amazing. “I reached Aberdeen at 3pm, greeted by a few gob-smacked surfers.” Dave took on the challenge in a bid to raise £1,000 for Children in Need. So far he has raised £755. You can donate by visiting www.justgiving.com/fundraising/standuppaddleboardcommutetoworkdressedasapenguin
