Coastguard teams were called to help a cruise ship passenger complaining of chest pains this evening.
The woman was on board the 70ft vessel in the Sound of Mull when the alarm was raised at around 6pm.
Oban lifeboat Mora Edith MacDonald was sent to the scene shortly after, and two crew members boarded the cruise ship to assess the casualty.
They transferred her onto the lifeboat, ready to airlift her to Oban.

But after another assessment, they decided this would put her “under more stress and risk” and she was taken by road ambulance to Oban, Lorn and the Islands Hospital.
A lifeboat spokesman said: “The lifeboat was brought alongside its berth where the casualty was met by Oban Coastguard Rescue Team before being transferred to the helicopter for onward transfer to Glasgow for treatment.”
