Assessor welcomed on board competence firm

A leading competency specialist has bolstered its organisation by appointing a new assessor.

ITB Competence Assurance has welcomed Michael Morrison to the role, who will be responsible for maintaining training standards and leading approved courses. Michael has more than 20 years of experience in the offshore oil and gas industry, and brings a wide range of skills and expertise to the position.

The Aberdeen-based organisation is one of a select band of OPITO approved competency and training specialists and works in partnership with a number of oil and gas clients worldwide, providing tailored services to match individual requirements. From consultancy and the provision of training and assessment to the development and auditing of competence management systems, ITB provides a fully integrated service designed to ensure compliance with legislation combined with efficiency in the workplace.

Jenny Stokes, ITB’s managing director and founder, is pleased to welcome Michael onboard, and is delighted with the appointment.

She said: “Michael brings a wealth of experience with him, which really does speak for itself. He is a very welcome addition to our team who will bring a lot to the organisation. He has been in the industry for many years and will use that involvement to guide and assist others in the organisation, all the while maintaining exceptionally high standards. We are all looking forward to working with him in his new role.”

Most recently, Michael has experience of practical training environments with the Weatherford Evaluation Centre. He is also equally comfortable in a classroom teaching environment, and is looking forward to helping delegates through ITB courses.
