Firefighters have been called to a fire in a house on Sanday, which is the third largest of the Orkney islands.
A fire service spokeswoman said they received the call just before midday today.
She said: “The incident was reported by a neighbour and the householder was already out of the property.”
She added that the local fire crew were in attendance at what she described as “a small electrical fire”.
