Picture by Scott Baxter/ DC Thomson. Hundreds of people crowded to Peterhead’s seafront this evening to watch pilots dazzle with astonishing aerial manoeuvres. The Red Arrows have been a fixture in the Buchan town’s Scottish Week calendar, and this year – again – left no one disappointed. Peterhead Scottish Week is an annual celebration of the port, featuring events including parades and pet competitions. Our photographer, Scott Baxter, was in the town tonight to capture locals and tourists alike enjoying the display. Crowds gather at Peterhead Lido for the Red Arrows’ display. The Red Arrows trace a love heart in the Peterhead skyline. Soaring overhead the pilots arrive in Peterhead. In formation the Red Arrows race across the sky. Alongside the Red Arrows, a car show featuring some classics attracted families to the Lido. Twists and turns – and incredible acrobatics were on show. Even those stuck at work took time to enjoy the show. Crowds take a higher vantage point, far off from the Peterhead Lido, to see the Red Arrows arrive. At incredible speed, the Red Arrows dart across Peterhead in one of their flyovers. Tandem stunts over the Lido. Making it look easy, these two pilots come close to each other to wow the crowds.
