Fire crews have been called to a blaze in a disused building and neighbouring block of flats in a north-east town.
Seven appliances are battling the huge blaze at the property on Commercial Street.
Police assisted with local roads closures as plumes of smoke were visible from miles around and onlookers witnessed the building’s roof collapse in on itself.
A fire service spokesman said: “We were alerted at 2.40pm on Sunday, March 22 to reports of a fire within a derelict building on Commercial Street, Macduff.
“Operations Control mobilised a number of resources to the scene including seven fire appliances.
“There are no reported casualties.”
Lianne Winton was near the scene when the fire broke out.
She said: “I live in Turriff but was visiting my partner’s mother and we saw the smoke.
“We drove up to find this unfolding.
“As someone who’s lived here most my life, I do know the buildings were lying empty”
