Aberdeen church to introduce fitness classes for community

An Aberdeen church congregation will today begin running fitness classes for the local community.
Northfield Congregational Church will hold the sessions at its base in the former air training corps building, in Moir Drive, which the group recently took over.
Tonight and on subsequent Mondays there will be Meta Fit classes running from 6.30pm-7pm at the church.
This evening’s class will be free and afterwards they will be £3 per session.
Fit Soup, 15-minute fitness classes, will also run at the centre.
The workouts will be followed by a bowl of soup from the church’s community cafe on Tuesdays from 11am-11.30am.
Minister the Rev Andy Cowie said: “Meta Fit classes are not for the faint-hearted, but it’s short and sharp and will leave folks free for the rest of the evening.
“The social aspect of these classes is as important as the fitness, we hope local people will come and enjoy the classes and the soup.”
